More than 7 million tons of replacement capacity will be put into operation in 2020

 My iron and steel news: According to Mysteel incomplete statistics, since 2018, a total of 96 capacity replacement schemes have been issued nationwide, of which 46 will be put into operation by the end of 2020, involving 12 provinces (urban areas) and 45 steel enterprises. It is proposed to build a new steel-making capacity of 73.188 million tons and iron-making capacity of 68.375 million tons, withdraw from steel-making capacity of 86.4828 million tons and iron-making capacity of 83.6123 million tons. It is proposed to build 48 blast furnaces, 45 converters and 16 electric furnaces. Preliminary calculation shows that 76% of the steelmaking capacity and 42% of the ironmaking capacity will be put into operation in the second half of 2020.

It is noteworthy that these production capacities are concentrated in East China and North China. Among them, Hebei, a major iron and steel province, will put into operation nearly 100 million tons of production capacity in 2020, involving 49.658 million tons of steel-making and 49.965 million tons of iron-making.
